The Absence of Objects: Make Your Own Sculpture at Home

Workshop Brief/

During the pandemic, the reconstruction and the re-understanding of living space become increasingly essential.

Through the practice of observing everyday objects and surroundings, this workshop aims to lead participants to make a site-specific sculpture by using transparent objects found in mundane events.

The workshop is divided into mainly three parts. Starting from collecting the transparent objects in the interior living space, participants are asked to take photos of those objects and write down the experience related to the objects. After collecting those data, it is ready to make the sculpture by utilising the transparent objects to contain each other together. By following the guideline on the website, there are several options to ponder and research the works made in workshop.

Lastly, it is great if participants could upload their installation view to social media to collect different perspectives. Also, it would be more than welcome to discuss their homemade artworks with artists.
